City of Coachella adopts AtlasView for pavement management

The City of Coachella, California announced that it adopted AtlasView to modernize how the City assesses street repair needs across nearly 150 miles of roadway.

With AtlasView, Coachella moved from its previous pavement management approach — last updated in 2016 using visual observation and a PDF summary — to a highly accurate, map-based program that can be updated annually and shared transparently with the public.

Pavement condition data for every street in the City is collected with high-precision survey technology and processed in AtlasView, giving the Public Works team a clear, current picture of network condition and the tools to build short- and long-term repair plans.

Condition ratings are also published through the AtlasView Public Dashboard, a public-facing page linked from the City's website, so residents can see current and forecasted street conditions in their community.

Since adopting AtlasView, the City has produced a defensible multi-year pavement management plan and used clear condition data to justify a request to increase its pavement maintenance budget fourfold.
